Winter is almost over

Seems like I've been hibernating for much of the winter.  Haven't written a whole lot.  The High King is over halfway done, going on 2/3rds.  I've consolidated all the Sherlock Holmes stories into one book.  It's nearly finished, maybe 90-95%.  Then, a round of edits and it'll be published.  Spring of this year.

Vampire Sherlock Holmes

The next installment of The Vampire Sherlock Holmes is nearing completion! Moriarty makes an appearance, Watson finds his answer to-Is Holmes a Vampire? And someone dies. Look for it soon!

Editing the Proof

Proof arrived and I'm going through it, editing it.  Up to chapter five.  I already know I'll have to rewrite the last chapter, 11.  So far, so good, though.

First round done

Finished the first round of edits.  Sent the story to Carlo and he sent back a critique.  Back to editing again.  Edited chapters 1 and 2, but am thinking about adding some more stuff in chapter 1.

Finished First Draft War of the Gates!

It's done.  I finished the first draft of War of the Gates.  I didn't make my word goal but the story finished up very close to it.  With edits, I imagine that it will go over the word goal.

Getting close

Nearing my goal and nearing the end of the story for the book.  Glad both of them ended up being close.  Hopefully this weekend I'll finish the first draft.  Then it's on to editing.

Still writing

War of the Gates is moving right along.  Over 2/3rds.  It's only a first draft, but it's slowly getting finished.

Hit the 2/3rds point

I hit the 2/3rds point that I set.  Kind of nice.  Hopefully, I'll make the end goal.  Or at least come close.  I know after this, the editing is going to be tough.  There are a lot of places where I'm going to have to fill in details.  But, it's writing and I'm getting somewhere.

I'm writing again.  Yeah!  :)   Passed my own personal halfway point.  And there was much rejoicing!

I've written some more.  About halfway done now.

More Writing

At least I'm getting some writing done.  It may only be a little bit a week, but that's way better than nothing.  :)

One more chapter

I wrote a chapter.  Not much, but at least it's something.

New Review for Power Play on Amazon

Honest review that gives me something to work with.  She didn't like the beginning because it didn't draw her in and she didn't connect with the characters.  I'll work to fix that in the second book.  3 out of 5.  I'm happy with that.  Will shoot for 5 of 5 in the next book.

That was the bad parts.  This is the good part, "Well, by the time I finished the first half of the book, the story had hooked me. I wanted (needed) to finish the story."   As a writer, having a reader say/write they really wanted to finish your book is a great thing to hear/read.

Almost a page written

Ack.  Talk about not getting anywhere fast.  Still, some writing is better than none.

Sat down to write and only finished one paragraph.  A small one.  Yuck.

And yet another week went by and I didn't write a thing.  I need to get back into doing things, including writing.
